Why choose LILDCS?

• We teach the phonetic bo-po-mo-fo (ㄅㄆㄇㄈ) first before an introduction to pin-yin, which improves pronunciation in the spoken language.

• We teach the traditional Chinese characters first before introducing simplified, as it it is easier to move from traditional to simplified than the other way around. We also believe the richness and history of the written language should not be lost.

• Our classes are small to provide a more comprehensive and student-centered learning experience, where your child's strengths will be recognized and nurtured, and extra help can be provided for areas where students struggle. Most of our instructors are also educational specialists outside of LILDCS, which means our focus is on a well-rounded student learning outcome.

• Our culture classes and holiday events are fun and interactive, providing a way for our children to explore Chinese traditions and cultural nuances, whether your goal is to broaden horizons or connect with roots.

• Students do not have to come from a Mandarin speaking home in order to benefit from our classes. We have both basic and advanced classes, which are taught in English and Mandarin, respectively.

• Our students are encouraged to attend poetry recitals, essay competitions, performances, and other events both in the school and at other venues to help improve their confidence and public speaking skills.
